In 1864 Thomas Goodwin Green acquired a pottery in Church Gresley, Derbyshire. Through strength of character and sheer personality he then proceeded to turn it into the world famous T.G. Green Pottery.

From Mid April 2009, Cornishware will be back! T.G.Green & Co was rescued from extinction in 2008 by entrepreneur Charles Rickards, a lifelong fan, and brand consultant Perry Haydn Taylor, whose wife Vik is a serious Cornishware collector. They will ensure that the brand remains true to the design principles that made it a classic and a part of everyday life – practicality, simplicity, durability and beauty.
